The Horned Demon Skull pumpkin stencil is a free printable PDF template. Print it, tape the pattern on, and trace it onto your pumpkin. A demonic horned skull with massive curved ram-like horns and a symmetrical face composed of dozens of interlocking cut fragments makes this one of the most intricate skull pumpkin stencils available. The forehead, cheeks, and jaw are all broken into shaped segments separated by thin pumpkin bridges, and the horns are densely cross-hatched with ridged cuts. Work from the center outward, cutting the tiniest interior fragments first before opening any large jaw or eye-socket voids, to avoid collapsing the many delicate bridges that hold the design together. It makes a fun jack-o'-lantern design for Halloween night. It is rated Expert / Pro. Actual time varies with preparation, pumpkin size and experience. Intricate details and fragile supports need patience. Technique depends on the design; follow its PDF rather than assuming multiple depth layers.

Frequently asked questions
Can I resize this stencil?βΎ
Yes. The PDF is vector so it scales cleanly. Print the pattern at 100% for a 7 to 10 inch pumpkin, 130% for 11 to 13 inch, or 150% for a giant. Use your printer's "Fit to page" or "Custom scale" setting.
What kind of paper works best?βΎ
Standard 20 lb letter or A4 printer paper is fine. Heavier paper is harder to bend around the pumpkin curve. If your printer supports it, set the quality to 'best' so the lines are crisp.
How long will the carved pumpkin last?βΎ
Usually 5 to 10 days. Coat all cut surfaces with petroleum jelly and store the pumpkin somewhere cool overnight. Avoid direct sun. Battery LED pumpkin lights produce no heat and help it last longer.
Can I sell pumpkins carved with this stencil?βΎ
Yes, the carved pumpkin you make is yours. The license covers personal and small-scale commercial carving (selling carved pumpkins, photographing them, posting on social). You may not resell the PDF file itself.
What if my printer doesn't print the whole stencil?βΎ
Set 'Page scaling' to 'Fit' in the print dialog and uncheck 'Auto-rotate'. If it still cuts off, the design includes 0.25" of safe-area margin so a small crop won't ruin it.
How to carve this stencil
- Use a large, firm pumpkin with thick walls; this design has many small adjacent cuts that need sturdy support.
- Transfer every line meticulously with a fine pin tool, including all horn ridges and the interior skull segments.
- Cut the smallest interior face fragments first, starting at the center forehead and working symmetrically outward.
- Carve the dense horn ridges next, working from the base of each horn toward the tip; do not skip to the tip early.
- Open the eye sockets and main jaw cavities only after all surrounding detail cuts are complete.
- Refrigerate the pumpkin between sessions if the wall begins to soften, as thin bridges can collapse when the pumpkin dries out.

Expert / ProSugar Skull with Roses Pumpkin Stencil
A sugar skull face with flower-ringed eye sockets, a crown of jagged flames, a heart-shaped nose, and rectangular teeth is surrounded by six individually carved roses in this expert pumpkin stencil. Every petal cluster, leaf, and decorative element is a separate pierce-through, creating an intricate Day of the Dead tableau. The carved pumpkin glows through dozens of individual openings simultaneously. Work from the center outward: finish all skull face details before the outer roses, so you can brace the pumpkin face-side-down when carving the perimeter flower clusters.
Expert / ProPirate Skull Pumpkin Stencil
A grinning pirate skull wearing a broad tricorn hat dominates this expert-level pumpkin stencil, with a second miniature skull-and-crossbones badge emblazoned on the hat brim. Dense cutwork in the teeth row, eye sockets, and hat badge creates many small isolated pieces held together by narrow bridges of pumpkin flesh. Begin with the tiny crossbone details on the hat badge while your hands are freshest, then move to the eye sockets and finally the toothed lower jaw.
Expert / ProCaptain Squawk Pumpkin Stencil
A weathered pirate skull in a battered tricorn hat stares out from this expert pumpkin stencil, a parrot perched on the skull's head and tattered coat lapels framing its hollow cheeks. The skull-and-crossbones badge on the hat, individual finger bones along the bottom, and ragged coat edges create dozens of intricate cut sections. Carve the small hat badge first, then the interior face hollows, before moving outward to the flowing coat edges where the thinnest bridges live.
Expert / ProSugar Skull with Crossbones Pumpkin Stencil
A Day of the Dead sugar skull topped with a crescent moon cutout sits above two crossed bones on this expert ghost pumpkin stencil. The skull face is packed with ornate floral-style cut-out circles, petal shapes, a nose diamond, and a grid-patterned mouth, all surrounded by thin decorative bridges. Because so many small circular cutouts cluster around the eye sockets, carve both large eye circles first to relieve the surrounding tension, then work outward through the smaller petal and dot details.
Expert / ProSugar Skull Sombrero Pumpkin Stencil
A Dia de los Muertos sugar skull wears an enormous sombrero whose brim is covered in repeating triangular geometric cutouts, while the skull face below shows heart-shaped flower eyes with petals, small crescent cheek scrolls, and a toothy grin in this expert sugar-skull pumpkin stencil. The tight zigzag pattern on the sombrero brim requires precise, repetitive cuts that must stay connected by narrow bridges to hold the hat together. Carve the hat band and dome details at the top first, then work row by row down the brim triangles before tackling the face, so the skull does not shift while the delicate geometric grid is still being cut.
AdvancedSinister Skull Face Pumpkin Stencil
Two large angular eyes with curling inner-corner details and cocked brows form the upper half of this skull pumpkin stencil, with a small paired nasal cavity below and a wide clenched-teeth mouth at the bottom, all cuts floating separately on an otherwise solid pumpkin face. When lit, the glowing eyes and jagged teeth give the jack-o-lantern an intensely menacing expression. Cut the thin curling details inside each eye first, while the pumpkin is still rigid, then open the eye sockets, nasal holes, and wide tooth row in that order to keep the face from flexing during fine work.
