Angry Pumpkin Stencils

Angry pumpkin stencils use furrowed brows, glaring eyes, and gritted teeth for a jack-o'-lantern with attitude. The brow is what carries the anger, so the designs put a lot of shape into a few cuts.

How to carve an angry pumpkin stencil

Cut the eyes as slanted shapes with the inner corners lower than the outer ones. The brow is either an uncut ridge above the eyes with the skin scraped off, or two thick slanted slits. Gritted teeth are cut as a row of small rectangles with thin bridges, or as one mouth with uncut teeth left in a straight line.

An angry pumpkin glaring from the step beside a friendly one is a classic pairing. Face it toward the walk so it meets visitors head-on.

Questions

Angry stencil questions

How do I carve angry eyebrows?+

Cut the eyes as slanted shapes, then scrape a V-shaped band across the forehead above them, or cut two thick slits angled down toward the nose. The downward angle is the anger.

Are angry face stencils harder than smiling ones?+

Slightly. The gritted teeth need a few more careful cuts, but the eyes and brows are simple shapes. Most are Easy or Medium.

How long do angry pumpkin stencils take to carve?+

Check the individual stencil's carving guide for its time estimate. Preparation, pumpkin size, wall thickness and your experience affect the total; difficulty alone does not determine carving time.

Which angry pumpkin stencils are the easiest?+

8 of the 21 are easy, 8 of the 21 are intermediate, 4 of the 21 are hard, 1 of the 21 are expert. Compare the difficulty labels and carving guides to choose a design.

Pick an angry design, print it, and light up the porch.
