Geometric Pumpkin Stencils
Geometric pumpkin stencils use triangles, diamonds, hexagons, and clean angles to build faces and patterns. Straight cuts are easier to control than curves, so these designs carve crisply, and the repeating shapes throw beautiful patterned light.

Carving guide
How to carve a geometric pumpkin stencil
Use a ruler and a fine marker to transfer the lines exactly; geometric designs look wrong if the angles drift. Cut every line with a straight fine-tooth saw and finish each corner with a craft knife so the vertices are sharp. Leave the bridges between shapes a consistent width.
Geometric pumpkins cast patterned light on the wall behind them, so place one close to the house or a fence and let the shadows become part of the display.
Questions
Geometric stencil questions
How do I keep the angles accurate on a geometric stencil?+
Tape the pattern very flat, poke each vertex with a pin, then connect the dots with a ruler and marker before cutting. Cut along the marker line, not the poked dots.
Are geometric designs harder than curved ones?+
The cutting is easier because every line is straight. The care goes into the layout; a crooked line shows more in a grid than in a face.
How long do geometric pumpkin stencils take to carve?+
Check the individual stencil's carving guide for its time estimate. Preparation, pumpkin size, wall thickness and your experience affect the total; difficulty alone does not determine carving time.
Which geometric pumpkin stencils are the easiest?+
34 of the 84 are easy, 33 of the 84 are intermediate, 10 of the 84 are hard, 7 of the 84 are expert. Compare the difficulty labels and carving guides to choose a design.
