Horror Pumpkin Stencils
Horror pumpkin stencils borrow from monster movies and haunted tales: screaming faces, clawed hands reaching through, masked figures, and creatures that belong in a late-night double feature. Bold contrast keeps them readable from the street.

How to carve a horror pumpkin stencil
Horror designs use large black areas for drama. Cut those through cleanly and keep the small highlights, like a glint in an eye or the edge of a blade, as tiny openings. Save the finest lines for a craft knife and cut them after the big areas, when you can see the shape forming.
Horror pumpkins deserve a dark setting. Turn off the porch light, use a single coloured LED inside, and let the carved face be the only thing glowing.
Questions
Horror stencil questions
Which horror stencils are the most detailed?+
The full-face portraits and layered monster scenes. They are marked Hard or Expert and use scraped shading. Simpler silhouettes, like a raised claw or a mask, carve in about an hour.
Can I carve a horror stencil without scraping?+
Yes. Choose one of the Easy or Medium designs on this page, which are cut-through only. The contrast comes from the shapes, not shading.
How long do horror pumpkin stencils take to carve?+
Check the individual stencil's carving guide for its time estimate. Preparation, pumpkin size, wall thickness and your experience affect the total; difficulty alone does not determine carving time.
Which horror pumpkin stencils are the easiest?+
11 of the 27 are hard, 16 of the 27 are expert. Compare the difficulty labels and carving guides to choose a design.
