Fanged Pumpkin Stencils

Fanged pumpkin stencils add long, pointed teeth to classic faces for a vampire or monster bite that glows sharply. Two fangs on a plain grin is one of the quickest ways to make a face look dangerous.

How to carve a fanged pumpkin stencil

Cut the mouth as an opening and leave the fangs as uncut triangles hanging from the top lip, each a quarter inch wide at the base and tapering to a point finished with a knife. If the design has lower fangs too, leave those standing from the bottom lip, offset from the top ones so they interlock.

Fanged pumpkins fit any spooky porch and pair naturally with the vampire and bat designs. Set one in a window with a red light for a stare from inside the house.

Questions

Fanged stencil questions

How long should the fangs be?+

About a third of the mouth height. Longer fangs look dramatic but get fragile; if you want them longer, make them wider at the base.

Can I add fangs to any face stencil?+

Yes. Draw two triangles hanging from the top lip on the printed pattern before you tape it on, and leave those areas uncut when you cut the mouth.

Which fanged pumpkin stencils are the easiest?+

6 of the 14 are easy, 4 of the 14 are intermediate, 2 of the 14 are hard, 2 of the 14 are expert. Compare the difficulty labels and carving guides to choose a design.

Pick a fanged design, print it, and light up the porch.
