Download the Spider Web pumpkin stencil as a free printable PDF, then tape the pattern to your pumpkin and trace the lines. An expert-level spider web pumpkin stencil featuring a large radiating cobweb that fills the pumpkin face, with concentric rings connected by curved spoke segments creating dozens of small trapezoidal cells to cut through. A small cartoonish spider with round body and eight outstretched legs sits in the lower right corner. The web structure stays intact because the solid spokes and ring arcs are left as orange skin while every cell between them is pierced. Work from the center hub outward ring by ring, finishing the spider body last since its legs are the most fragile pieces. It works as a carving template for a Halloween jack-o'-lantern or a fall porch display. It is rated Expert / Pro. Actual time varies with preparation, pumpkin size and experience. Intricate details and fragile supports need patience. Technique depends on the design; follow its PDF rather than assuming multiple depth layers.

Frequently asked questions
Can I resize this stencil?βΎ
Yes. The PDF is vector so it scales cleanly. Print the pattern at 100% for a 7 to 10 inch pumpkin, 130% for 11 to 13 inch, or 150% for a giant. Use your printer's "Fit to page" or "Custom scale" setting.
What kind of paper works best?βΎ
Standard 20 lb letter or A4 printer paper is fine. Heavier paper is harder to bend around the pumpkin curve. If your printer supports it, set the quality to 'best' so the lines are crisp.
How long will the carved pumpkin last?βΎ
Usually 5 to 10 days. Coat all cut surfaces with petroleum jelly and store the pumpkin somewhere cool overnight. Avoid direct sun. Battery LED pumpkin lights produce no heat and help it last longer.
Can I sell pumpkins carved with this stencil?βΎ
Yes, the carved pumpkin you make is yours. The license covers personal and small-scale commercial carving (selling carved pumpkins, photographing them, posting on social). You may not resell the PDF file itself.
What if my printer doesn't print the whole stencil?βΎ
Set 'Page scaling' to 'Fit' in the print dialog and uncheck 'Auto-rotate'. If it still cuts off, the design includes 0.25" of safe-area margin so a small crop won't ruin it.
How to carve this stencil
- Transfer the full stencil carefully; number the rings lightly with a marker to track progress.
- Begin at the center hub cells and remove each small trapezoidal piece working outward one ring at a time so the structure stays rigid.
- Keep your blade angled perpendicular to the pumpkin surface on the curved arc cuts to prevent tearing.
- Cut the outer fringe spikes last, as they are unsupported; score them first with the blade tip before completing each cut.
- For the spider in the corner, cut the oval body first, then the eight thin legs one at a time; leave each leg attached at the body end until all are scored.
- Illuminate with a battery tea light placed at the back center so every web cell catches the light evenly without overheating the fine orange bridges.

AdvancedSpiky Spider Pumpkin Stencil
A front-facing spider with a cartoon scowl and spiky, porcupine-like hair fills this hard spider pumpkin stencil. The round, spiky abdomen is encircled by a ring of radiating spike-like projections, and four angular legs extend from each side within an outer octagonal border. The face detail consists of two teardrop-shaped eyes and a frowning mouth, all carved as open shapes inside the solid round body. When lit, the spiky halo around the body glows intensely. Carve the outer octagonal border ring first, then the leg pairs, before finishing the delicate face cutouts inside the central body.
AdvancedCartoon Spider Pumpkin Stencil
A cartoonish spider hanging from a single thread pumpkin stencil, with a wide spiky thorax section, four curved legs extending from each side, and a round head featuring a ring of small eyes above a smiling mouth with fangs. The open areas between the legs cut through to the light, while the solid spider body and thick leg stripes remain as orange pumpkin skin. The thin thread line at the top is the most vulnerable detail; pierce it last and use a linoleum cutter rather than a saw so it does not snap under lateral pressure.
IntermediateRooftop Web Pumpkin Stencil
A natural spider web spans broken rooftop corners. Create a shaded pumpkin with continuous web strands, a two-depth key and individual scraping steps.
IntermediateCreepy Crawler Pumpkin Stencil
A giant spider sprawled across the whole pumpkin face, its oval abdomen and small head flanked by eight long jointed legs that bend at sharp knees. The design uses skin-shave shading only: the spider shape is peeled to the pale flesh while the wall stays whole, so it looms in daylight without any pierced holes. At medium difficulty, score the leg outlines first and peel each segment separately to keep the joints sharp.
IntermediateEight-Leg Lurker Pumpkin Stencil
A big bodied spider spreads eight bent legs across the pumpkin face, framed by glowing panels that let the light flood around the silhouette. The spider itself stays as solid rind while the surrounding windows are cut through, so the legs read as crisp dark lines against the glow. Cut the background panels first and save the thin leg bridges for last so they keep their support.
Beginner-friendlySpider Emblem Pumpkin Stencil
A stylized spider rendered as a graphic emblem fills this easy stencil: the body is split into a large oval abdomen and a smaller rounded head kept solid as orange pumpkin, while the eight legs radiate outward as broad curved blades that taper to sharp points, all backed by cut-out negative space. The overall silhouette has a bold, almost logo-like quality that glows dramatically when lit. Leave the narrow waist bridge connecting the head to the abdomen until last, since removing adjacent leg gaps early can put stress on that small connector.
