Tribal Pumpkin Stencils

Tribal-style pumpkin stencils use flowing, pointed linework, sweeping curves that taper to sharp tips and interlock across the face of the pumpkin. Lit up, the carved bands look like glowing ink.

How to carve a tribal pumpkin stencil

Every band in a tribal design tapers, so cut from the wide end toward the point and finish each tip with a craft knife. The uncut pumpkin between bands is what holds the design together; keep it at least half an inch wide and never cut two neighbouring bands to their full length in a row.

Tribal designs wrap well around the pumpkin, so set it where people walk past the side, not just the front. It pairs with skull and dragon stencils in the same style.
