Before you start cutting

The silhouette piece fell out in two pieces. How do I prevent that?

It usually means the blade veered off the line and crossed a narrow section of the design. Slow down at curves and keep the saw blade perfectly perpendicular to the pumpkin surface. If a piece does break, it will not be visible once the pumpkin is lit.

Where exactly should the heart and dot sit in the design?

Place the heart in the solid rind just outside the bulldog's chest area and the dot slightly above or beside it. They should read as floating accents, not as part of the silhouette edge. Check their positions on the stencil before cutting.

Why use amber light rather than white?
