   Open the big mouth and face circle last

   Save the largest openings for the end. Cut the wide screaming mouth through completely, then carefully open the surrounding face circle so the whole interior glows.    Drop in one or two battery LED lights, never a candle, since the deep interior needs even, safe light. Warm white LEDs give that bright orange scream, while a flicker mode adds a nervous energy. Set the pumpkin on a dry surface, dim the surroundings, and shoot at dusk for the strongest glow. Rub a little petroleum jelly on cut edges to slow drying if you want it to last.
