Owl Pumpkin Stencils
Owl pumpkin stencils show big round eyes, pointed ear tufts, and perched silhouettes on a branch. The eyes become a great focal point when the pumpkin is lit, glowing like an owl caught in headlights.

How to carve an owl pumpkin stencil
Cut the two big round eyes first; they are the design. Leave a small uncut pupil in each, attached at the top, so the eyes look focused. The feathers on the chest are scraped in overlapping arcs, and the branch is a single cut with a few twigs finished with a knife.
An owl looks best perched high, on a post or a stack of hay bales, looking down at the walk. It fits fall and harvest displays as well as Halloween ones.
Questions
Owl stencil questions
How do I carve the owl's eyes so they look alive?+
Cut each eye as a large circle but leave a crescent of pumpkin uncut at the top to act as a lid, and a small round pupil hanging from it. The glowing ring around the dark pupil reads as a stare.
Are owl stencils easy?+
Silhouette owls on a branch are Easy. Front-facing owls with scraped chest feathers are Medium because of the texture work.
How long do owl pumpkin stencils take to carve?+
Check the individual stencil's carving guide for its time estimate. Preparation, pumpkin size, wall thickness and your experience affect the total; difficulty alone does not determine carving time.
