This free Cyclops Monster pumpkin stencil is a printable PDF pattern you can print at home, tape to your pumpkin, and trace. This one-eyed monster face jack-o-lantern stencil pairs a massive single eye opening at the top, with a crescent of solid orange forming the pupil island, with a lower face panel bearing a triangular nose and a wide blocky grin of square teeth. Both sections are fully cut through, flooding the pumpkin face with light. Keep the thin orange strip separating the upper eye section from the lower mouth panel intact as a structural bridge until the very last cut. Use it as a carving template for your Halloween jack-o'-lantern. It is rated Beginner-friendly. Estimated time: 45-60 minutes. Actual time varies with preparation, pumpkin size and experience. Larger shapes and shorter cuts. An adult should handle sharp carving tools.

Frequently asked questions
Can I resize this stencil?βΎ
Yes. The PDF is vector so it scales cleanly. Print the pattern at 100% for a 7 to 10 inch pumpkin, 130% for 11 to 13 inch, or 150% for a giant. Use your printer's "Fit to page" or "Custom scale" setting.
What kind of paper works best?βΎ
Standard 20 lb letter or A4 printer paper is fine. Heavier paper is harder to bend around the pumpkin curve. If your printer supports it, set the quality to 'best' so the lines are crisp.
How long will the carved pumpkin last?βΎ
Usually 5 to 10 days. Coat all cut surfaces with petroleum jelly and store the pumpkin somewhere cool overnight. Avoid direct sun. Battery LED pumpkin lights produce no heat and help it last longer.
Can I sell pumpkins carved with this stencil?βΎ
Yes, the carved pumpkin you make is yours. The license covers personal and small-scale commercial carving (selling carved pumpkins, photographing them, posting on social). You may not resell the PDF file itself.
What if my printer doesn't print the whole stencil?βΎ
Set 'Page scaling' to 'Fit' in the print dialog and uncheck 'Auto-rotate'. If it still cuts off, the design includes 0.25" of safe-area margin so a small crop won't ruin it.
How to carve this stencil
This is a cut-through stencil: the gray areas on the printable pattern are the pieces you remove, and everything white stays attached. The steps below give you the safest carving order. Plan on about 45-60 minutes from print to candle.
Set up first. Print the PDF at 100% scale on letter or A4 paper. Cut the lid at an angle, scoop the pumpkin clean, and thin the carving wall to about 1 inch where the design will sit. Tape the pattern on (snip small darts in the paper so it hugs the curve) and transfer every outline by poking dots along the lines, about one every 1/8 inch. Peel the paper away and carve dot to dot with short, straight strokes.
Carving order
- Cut the triangle nose. Remove the small rounded triangle above the mouth first. It is the smallest piece and anchors your layout for the rest of the face.
- Open the grin around the teeth. Cut the wide crescent smile, working carefully around the two square white teeth that hang from its upper edge. Leave a short section of the lower lip attached until last, then support the mouth plug and lift it free; the teeth stay attached to the pumpkin.
- Cut the giant eye. Cut the big dome-shaped eye, following the deep curved notch at its top that forms the brow and pupil area. Work each horn of the notch from the tip inward.
- Support the eye plug on release. This is a very large plug, so leave a tab at the bottom of the eye, brace the piece from inside, and make the final cut slowly. Keep the white band between the eye and the mouth fully intact; it holds the face together.
Clear loose fibers out of each opening as you go, and never twist or pry the blade against the shell; back it out and recut instead. When every piece is out, wipe the cut edges dry and drop in a battery LED puck.

Beginner-friendlyStartled Cyclops Pumpkin Stencil
One huge round eye crossed by a vertical skin bar stares out above a stubby grin with two blocky teeth, giving this little cyclops a comically startled expression. The eye and mouth are cut through, with the center bar and both teeth left as standing strips of shell. It is an easy carve suited to smaller pumpkins; cut the eye as two half-circles on either side of the bar instead of one big circle, and the bar will never be at risk.
IntermediateChuckling Cyclops Pumpkin Stencil
A goofy cyclops with one giant round eye under a curly brow, a small triangle nose, freckle dots on each cheek, and a huge laughing mouth with five stubby teeth. The features are cut through, and the pupil stays in place as an attached tab hanging inside the enormous eye. That pupil bridge is the medium-level test; cut both sides of the tab before freeing the rest of the eye circle.
IntermediateOne-Eyed Ollie Pumpkin Stencil
A single giant eye dominates this friendly monster face, with a dark round pupil left in place at its center and a curved brow arched above. Below, a huge grin sweeps ear to ear with pointed dimples at each corner. The eye ring, brow, and smile are cut through while the pupil stays as an island of shell, which is what earns the medium rating; anchor that pupil with a toothpick from behind if it feels loose.
IntermediateGoofy Gaze Pumpkin Stencil
A goofy one-eyed jack-o'-lantern with a huge round eye topped by a dark pupil circle, a small triangle nose, and a wide smile broken by two chunky upper teeth. The big eye, nose, and mouth are cut through, while the pupil area keeps a disc of skin attached at the top for contrast. Support the teeth by cutting away from their narrow roots, since those two tabs carry the whole grin.
AdvancedThe Cyclops Mask Pumpkin Stencil
A huge single eye quartered by a bold plus-shaped bar dominates this monster mask, flanked by rows of diamond cutouts down each cheek, a tiny skull-like nose, and a jagged zigzag grin along the bottom. The eye quadrants, diamonds, nose, and zigzag are all cut through, with the plus bar and diamond lattice left as connected skin. This hard design demands order: carve the four eye sections first, then diamonds from the center outward, protecting that thin cross bar throughout.
Beginner-friendlyHollow Eyes Pumpkin Stencil
Two big blank circle eyes stare out beneath short angled brow slits, while the wide mouth is broken into six upright rectangular slots that glow like stitched or fenced-off teeth. Everything is cut through, and the plain round eyes with no pupils give the face its unsettling, vacant charm. The vertical mouth bars keep this an easy carve; cut every slot top-down in the same direction so the strips between them stay straight and even.
