Have an adult handle all the sharp tools.

   Carve the floppy ears in relief

   Do not cut the ears through. Instead, peel away just the outer skin of each ear shape so they glow a soft dim orange against the darker pumpkin. Then score a shallow V-groove down the middle of each ear to suggest the inner ridge. This relief technique keeps the long ears fully supported and structurally sound.

   Clean up and test the glow

   Trim any ragged edges from the inside with a small loop tool or paring knife so the light spreads cleanly. Gently sand or scrape the peeled ear surfaces smooth for an even glow. Drop in an LED tea light or two and check the balance in a dark room. Deepen the eye or mouth edges if any area looks muddy.

   Set it out and photograph

   Place the bunny on a flat porch step where the ears frame the face at eye level. Use battery LED lights, never a candle, especially around kids and dry leaves. Rub a little petroleum jelly on cut edges to slow drying if you want it to last longer. Snap your photo at dusk when the warm glow shows best against the evening dark.
