Spooky Pumpkin Stencils
Spooky pumpkin stencils are eerie rather than gory: glowing eyes, drifting ghosts, crooked grins, bare trees, and moonlit shapes that set a Halloween mood without frightening the youngest visitors. Think haunted, not horror.

How to carve a spooky pumpkin stencil
Spooky scenes often include a moon or a window, which are large single openings that light the whole design. Carve those big openings last. For wispy shapes like fog or a ghost's tail, use a scraping tool to thin the skin instead of cutting through, so the glow fades out softly.
Group two or three spooky pumpkins at different heights on the steps and light them with the same colour so they read as one scene. They pair naturally with graveyard and haunted-house designs.
Questions
Spooky stencil questions
What is the difference between spooky and scary stencils?+
Spooky designs aim for atmosphere: ghosts, moons, and shadows. Scary designs aim for a fright: fangs, glares, and screaming faces. Spooky suits porches with young trick-or-treaters.
Which spooky stencils are easiest to carve?+
Single-subject designs like a ghost or a moon with a bat take under an hour. Full scenes with trees and fences take longer because of the branch detail.
How long do spooky pumpkin stencils take to carve?+
Check the individual stencil's carving guide for its time estimate. Preparation, pumpkin size, wall thickness and your experience affect the total; difficulty alone does not determine carving time.
