Download the Kawaii Mushroom pumpkin stencil as a free printable PDF, then tape the pattern to your pumpkin and trace the lines. A kawaii-style mushroom character fills this hard pumpkin stencil, with a broad spotted cap, small horns or fins at the sides, and a round face below it showing large anime eyes and a tiny curved mouth. The cap spots are solid orange circles against a pierced cap background, and the face details are fine interior cuts within the solid round head. Carve the small circular spots on the cap before removing the large open cap area, so those circles have firm pumpkin wall behind them while you make the precise cuts. It works as a carving template for a Halloween jack-o'-lantern or a fall porch display. It is rated Advanced. Actual time varies with preparation, pumpkin size and experience. Fine details and narrow supports need careful planning. Follow the cutting and shading key in this designβs PDF.

Frequently asked questions
Can I resize this stencil?βΎ
Yes. The PDF is vector so it scales cleanly. Print the pattern at 100% for a 7 to 10 inch pumpkin, 130% for 11 to 13 inch, or 150% for a giant. Use your printer's "Fit to page" or "Custom scale" setting.
What kind of paper works best?βΎ
Standard 20 lb letter or A4 printer paper is fine. Heavier paper is harder to bend around the pumpkin curve. If your printer supports it, set the quality to 'best' so the lines are crisp.
How long will the carved pumpkin last?βΎ
Usually 5 to 10 days. Coat all cut surfaces with petroleum jelly and store the pumpkin somewhere cool overnight. Avoid direct sun. Battery LED pumpkin lights produce no heat and help it last longer.
Can I sell pumpkins carved with this stencil?βΎ
Yes, the carved pumpkin you make is yours. The license covers personal and small-scale commercial carving (selling carved pumpkins, photographing them, posting on social). You may not resell the PDF file itself.
What if my printer doesn't print the whole stencil?βΎ
Set 'Page scaling' to 'Fit' in the print dialog and uncheck 'Auto-rotate'. If it still cuts off, the design includes 0.25" of safe-area margin so a small crop won't ruin it.
How to carve this stencil
- Tape the stencil securely, centering the mushroom cap across the widest part of the pumpkin face.
- Cut all three circular spots on the cap first using a thin-bladed pumpkin saw, keeping each circle as clean and round as possible.
- Carve the cap outline next, removing the open cap area while the spots remain supported by the uncut pumpkin around them.
- Cut the two small side horn shapes, working from the base of each horn outward to the tip.
- Carve the face details: the anime-eye cutouts and the small mouth curve, using a fine detail blade for the eye highlights inside each eye shape.
- Remove the remaining background outside the mushroom last, letting the full character pop as a glowing island of light.

AdvancedStarry-Eyed Sweetie Pumpkin Stencil
Two huge sparkling anime-style eyes, each split by a vertical skin bar, beam above a tiny smile and heart-shaped cheeks, while dozens of little stars and dots twinkle across the whole pumpkin. The eyes, hearts, stars, and dots are all cut through, leaving the eye bars intact. The sheer number of small piercings makes this a hard carve; drill all the dots first, cut the stars with a fine detail saw, and save the big barred eyes for the very end.
AdvancedBright-Eyed Bear Cub Pumpkin Stencil
A round-eared bear face grins from the pumpkin, with big circular eyes holding attached pupil tabs, a shiny nose, two little teeth, and a crown of twelve teardrop openings fanning above like fur tufts. The eyes, muzzle, teardrops, and ear rings are pierced while pupils and outlines stay connected. Rated hard for the hanging pupil tabs, so leave their bridges thick and cut them dead last.
AdvancedSteady Sheldon Pumpkin Stencil
A gentle box turtle strolls across the pumpkin, its domed shell divided into raised seams and its legs dotted with rounded scale spots. The whole design is skin-shave work with no pierced holes; you strip the skin inside each shell panel and body section while leaving the seam lines dark and raised. Vary your shaving depth slightly between panels to give the shell dimension, and save the tiny scale dots for last.
AdvancedSnowy Chick Pumpkin Stencil
A plump baby penguin stands in profile facing right, with a dark head and back, a softly glowing belly, and tiny webbed feet. The design is shaded rather than pierced: you shave the belly and face patches thin so they shine brightly, leave the flipper and back skin dark, and feather the transition between them. Work the big belly area with broad shallow strokes and save the fine downy texture lines for the very end.
AdvancedPlayful Harbor Seal
A playful harbor seal reclines with its head up, whiskers spread, and tail flippers raised in a happy curl. Everything is done with skin shaving rather than pierced cuts, so the seal's body emerges in pale relief with darker skin left for the eyes, nose, and whisker dots. It rates hard because of the fine facial detail; use a small gouge for the whisker spots and shave the body in smooth, even layers.
AdvancedGarden Snail & Grass
A smiling garden snail glides between tufts of grass, its spiral shell coiling into a bold center swirl. The design is pure surface work; you shave the skin from the body, shell, and grass blades so they glow pale against the dark rind, with the spiral line left raised for definition. Shave the big shell arc in one smooth pass, then use a fine gouge for the antennae and grass so they stay thin.
