Toothy Grin Pumpkin Stencils

Toothy grin pumpkin stencils put the focus on a wide mouth full of teeth, from a few square blocks to a crowded row of fangs. Leave solid bridges between teeth so they don't snap, and the smile lights up the whole pumpkin.

How to carve a toothy grin pumpkin stencil

Cut the mouth as one opening and leave the teeth as uncut blocks hanging from the top lip and standing from the bottom. Each tooth needs to be at least half an inch wide at its base. Use a knife to square the corners. Cut the eyes and nose before the mouth, since the mouth is the largest opening.

A toothy grin at the top of the steps is the classic welcome. Pair it with a scared face beside it for a laugh.

Questions

Toothy Grin stencil questions

How do I stop the teeth from breaking off?+

Keep each tooth at least half an inch wide at the base, cut the mouth around them rather than cutting each tooth separately, and push the mouth piece out from inside so nothing catches on a tooth.

How many teeth should a grin have?+

Four to six read best from the street. More than that and they become thin and fragile. Two or three big square teeth look great on a small pumpkin.

How long do toothy grin pumpkin stencils take to carve?+

Check the individual stencil's carving guide for its time estimate. Preparation, pumpkin size, wall thickness and your experience affect the total; difficulty alone does not determine carving time.

Which toothy grin pumpkin stencils are the easiest?+

21 of the 63 are easy, 22 of the 63 are intermediate, 14 of the 63 are hard, 6 of the 63 are expert. Compare the difficulty labels and carving guides to choose a design.

Pick a toothy grin design, print it, and light up the porch.
