Leave the notch area for last so the large panel stays supported while you work.

   Finish the notch and free the piece

   Come back to the scored southwestern corner and complete the stepped cuts gently, easing the blade through each short angle. Once every line is connected, push the cutout inward and lift it out in one piece. Trim any ragged edges from the inside with your detail blade so the outline stays crisp. Clean stray marker lines with a damp paper towel.

   Set a bright LED puck or a string of battery lights inside and aim them at the opening. Because the whole shape is pierced through, the light will read as one solid glowing panel, so keep the interior wall smooth for an even wash.
