Monster Face Pumpkin Stencils

Monster face pumpkin stencils feature bulging eyes, crooked teeth, horns, warts, and wild expressions for a creature that is more fun than frightening. Odd proportions are the whole point, so they forgive an uneven cut.

How to carve a monster face pumpkin stencil

Monster faces mix big and small openings. Cut the small features first, like warts, nostrils, and single teeth, then the eyes, then the mouth. Bulging eyes are round cuts with a scraped ring around them so they look like they pop out. Horns can be cut through or left uncut with a scraped edge.

Monster pumpkins are great at kids' parties, where they are funny rather than scary. A group of them with different faces looks like a monster family.

Questions

Monster Face stencil questions

Are monster face stencils scary for young kids?+

Most are playful: goofy eyes, crooked teeth, and silly horns. If you want gentler, pick one with a grin rather than fangs. They are popular with kids for carving too.

How do I carve bulging eyes?+

Cut the eye through as a circle, then scrape a wide ring around it so the eye appears to sit in a raised socket. A small uncut pupil at the top finishes the pop-eyed look.

How long do monster face pumpkin stencils take to carve?+

Check the individual stencil's carving guide for its time estimate. Preparation, pumpkin size, wall thickness and your experience affect the total; difficulty alone does not determine carving time.

Which monster face pumpkin stencils are the easiest?+

7 of the 46 are easy, 10 of the 46 are intermediate, 23 of the 46 are hard, 6 of the 46 are expert. Compare the difficulty labels and carving guides to choose a design.

Pick a monster face design, print it, and light up the porch.
