How to carve a harvest pumpkin stencil

Wheat is a bundle of thin stalks, so scrape the stalks and cut only the heads through as small ovals. Corn kernels are scraped in rows on an uncut cob. A barn is a large uncut shape with the doors and windows cut through, and the sky around it is cut last. Tractors are silhouettes cut in one piece.

Harvest pumpkins sit naturally on a hay bale with a bushel basket of apples. They suit a farm stand, a country porch, or a fall wedding.

Questions

Harvest stencil questions

How do I carve wheat on a harvest stencil?+

Scrape the stalks as thin lines with a small gouge and cut only the seed heads through as little ovals. Cutting the stalks would leave the pumpkin too weak.

Are harvest stencils good for a fall wedding or party?+

Yes. They are not Halloween-specific, so they suit any autumn event. Pale pumpkins with harvest carvings and warm lights look elegant on a table.

How long do harvest pumpkin stencils take to carve?+

Check the individual stencil's carving guide for its time estimate. Preparation, pumpkin size, wall thickness and your experience affect the total; difficulty alone does not determine carving time.

Which harvest pumpkin stencils are the easiest?+

2 of the 21 are easy, 9 of the 21 are intermediate, 6 of the 21 are hard, 4 of the 21 are expert. Compare the difficulty labels and carving guides to choose a design.

Pick a harvest design, print it, and light up the porch.
