The Turkey pumpkin stencil is a free printable PDF template. Print it, tape the pattern on, and trace it onto your pumpkin. A plump, strutting turkey faces forward with wings spread and fan tail displayed on this expert-level animal pumpkin stencil. The design is a dense interlocking map of curved feather sections, body masses, and a detailed head with wattle, all separated by thin white bridges that must stay solid. Because so many narrow bridges cross each other, work from the outermost tail feather tips inward toward the body, removing each isolated section fully before moving to the next rather than skipping around. It makes a fun jack-o'-lantern design for Halloween night. It is rated Expert / Pro. Actual time varies with preparation, pumpkin size and experience. Intricate details and fragile supports need patience. Technique depends on the design; follow its PDF rather than assuming multiple depth layers.

Frequently asked questions
Can I resize this stencil?βΎ
Yes. The PDF is vector so it scales cleanly. Print the pattern at 100% for a 7 to 10 inch pumpkin, 130% for 11 to 13 inch, or 150% for a giant. Use your printer's "Fit to page" or "Custom scale" setting.
What kind of paper works best?βΎ
Standard 20 lb letter or A4 printer paper is fine. Heavier paper is harder to bend around the pumpkin curve. If your printer supports it, set the quality to 'best' so the lines are crisp.
How long will the carved pumpkin last?βΎ
Usually 5 to 10 days. Coat all cut surfaces with petroleum jelly and store the pumpkin somewhere cool overnight. Avoid direct sun. Battery LED pumpkin lights produce no heat and help it last longer.
Can I sell pumpkins carved with this stencil?βΎ
Yes, the carved pumpkin you make is yours. The license covers personal and small-scale commercial carving (selling carved pumpkins, photographing them, posting on social). You may not resell the PDF file itself.
What if my printer doesn't print the whole stencil?βΎ
Set 'Page scaling' to 'Fit' in the print dialog and uncheck 'Auto-rotate'. If it still cuts off, the design includes 0.25" of safe-area margin so a small crop won't ruin it.
How to carve this stencil
- Transfer the stencil carefully, tracing every bridge line since they are what hold the design together.
- Begin at the outer tail fan tips and remove the narrow feather-gap slivers one at a time, working inward.
- Cut the body and wing sections next, leaving all thin connecting bridges completely intact.
- Carve the head details, wattle, and beak last using a small pointed blade.
- If a bridge cracks, insert a toothpick from inside the pumpkin to re-support it before continuing.
- Use a bright LED set directly behind the design to illuminate the intricate feather map evenly.

Expert / ProLayered Petal Sunflower Pumpkin Stencil
A lush sunflower filling the pumpkin face, with a densely dotted seed head ringed by two overlapping layers of pointed petals and broad leaves fanning out below. It is carved entirely as continuous-wall relief, shaving the skin at multiple depths so petals overlap realistically with no pierced openings. As an expert project, plan your levels first: deepest around the outer background, shallower between petal layers, and the seed dome nearly untouched.
AdvancedHarvest Sunflower Pumpkin Stencil
A sixteen-petal sunflower blooms across the whole face of the pumpkin, complete with a dotted seed head, layered leaves, and a curving stem. This is a skin-shave design: you peel the skin inside every petal and leaf while leaving orange outlines and vein lines untouched, so no light shines through. Sharpen your tools before starting and shave the big petals in long strokes from base to tip for smooth, even texture.
AdvancedPuddles the Duck Pumpkin Stencil
A standing duck in profile, from its rounded bill down to its webbed feet, with layered feather detail across the folded wing and breast. This is a skin-shaving pattern rather than a pierced one: the duck's body is etched to glow while the surrounding skin stays dark, and feather lines are scored deeper for texture. Shave the broad body areas first, then add the fine feather strokes last so a slip cannot erase your detail work.
IntermediateGolden Sunflower Pumpkin Stencil
A tall sunflower blooms across the whole pumpkin face, with eleven glowing petals radiating around a dark seed disc dotted with tiny pinprick holes, plus a straight stem and two leaves below. The petals, stem, and leaves are shaved to the flesh rather than pierced, while the seed dots are drilled through for sparkle. For this medium shading design, etch all the petal outlines first, then peel each petal evenly and finish by drilling the seed dots in a loose spiral.
IntermediateMaple Drift Pumpkin Stencil
Three maple leaves drift diagonally down the pumpkin, each one cut fully through with its stem, and small round holes scattered between them like floating seeds. The pierced leaves throw crisp, recognizable maple silhouettes of light, making this a lovely all-autumn design rather than a strictly Halloween one. Saw each leaf point from the tip inward and remove the waste in sections so the notched edges stay sharp.
