Wait for full drying between coats to avoid smearing.

   Scatter the stars

   Using both black and cream, dot in stars of a few sizes with a small brush or the wooden end of one. Place cream stars near the bat and black stars near the moon so the two colors tie the scene together. Keep them irregular and hand-painted rather than perfectly uniform.    Seal and stage your photo

   Once all the paint has cured, brush on a thin coat of matte acrylic sealer to protect the design and help it last. Set the finished pumpkin on a wood table or shelf where the farmhouse mood reads well. If you want a soft glow later, tuck a battery LED puck beside it rather than inside, since this design is not cut open. Snap your photo in warm, even light.
