   Cut the mouth and save the fang

   Open the snarling mouth as a large pierced shape, but leave the single centered fang and the curling lip edges as uncut bridges of skin. Cut around the fang, not through it, so it hangs as a solid tooth against the bright opening. Trim the lip curls carefully to keep their pointed shape. Save this biggest opening for last so the wall stays rigid during all the finer work.

   Light it and photograph

   Set an amber or warm LED inside, resting it low so light climbs up through the mouth and fang. Amber deepens the wild, orange glow far better than a cool-white bulb. Check that every fur sliver reads from a few feet back and widen any that look dull. Shoot in the dark on a porch or step for the strongest effect.
