   Dip the rounded end of a brush handle or a pencil eraser into white paint and press evenly spaced dots across the upper wing and back.    Seal and show it off

   After everything is bone dry, brush on a thin coat of matte or satin acrylic sealer to protect the paint from moisture and handling. Display the pumpkin on a shelf or windowsill, ideally near other painted sea creatures for a reef theme. Keep it out of direct rain and off a hot spot, and a real pumpkin will hold its look for a couple of weeks. Snap a photo in soft daylight to catch the color contrast.
