Three-Eyed Monster Green Pumpkin with Glowing Smile

Hollow and mark the face bands

Cut a lid, scoop to an inch-thick wall, and wipe the dark-green surface dry. Draw a horizontal band across the upper third of the face, then divide that band into three equal vertical sections. The center of each section is where one eye circle belongs.

Sketch three equal circles

Using a small round jar lid or cookie cutter as a guide, trace three equally sized circles, one in each marked section. Press the lid firmly against the curved rind and trace around it in one continuous movement. Check all three from a distance to confirm they look balanced before cutting.

Cut the three round eyes

Pierce the center of the first circle and saw smoothly around the full outline. Rotate the pumpkin to keep the saw angle comfortable rather than contorting your wrist. Complete all three circles before moving on; seeing all eyes in place helps you judge the spacing before adding other features.

Cut the long smile with four teeth

Sketch a wide, open smile curve below the eyes with four broad rectangular teeth rooted to its upper edge. Cut the smile arc, remove the background waste, then free each tooth by cutting the narrow slots on either side of its root. Keep each tooth root wide enough to resist a gentle push without flexing.

Add the four diamond cheek holes

Mark two diamond shapes on each cheek, outside and below the smile arc. Use a chisel to score the corners of each diamond before cutting through to keep the points crisp. Push each waste piece inward. The four diamonds add scattered side-glow without complicating the face.

Light and display at dusk

Place a warm LED inside and display on a patio at dusk when the ambient light is still low enough to show the green rind while the interior glow is already visible. The three glowing eyes give an immediately friendly monster expression from any angle.
