How do I keep the middles of R, P, and the 2s from falling out?

Leave a small bridge of pumpkin, about a quarter inch wide, connecting each enclosed center to the wall around it. Mark these bridges before you cut so you do not saw through them by habit. They read as tiny dark breaks in the glow and are normal for stencil lettering.

Why thin the wall before cutting instead of after?
