Add a subtle line under the eye band to hint at the top of the cloth mask. A steady hand and a nearly dry brush help you avoid drips here.

   Paint the knotted headband tail

   On one side of the hood, extend a short black strip outward and split it into two tapered flaps for the tied headband. Keep it small so it stays balanced and does not overwhelm the face. Let all the paint cure for several hours or overnight. A quick coat of clear matte sealer will protect it if you want the pumpkin to last.

   Set the scene and photograph

   Place the finished ninja on a table with soft, even light so the black reads clean and the orange eye band glows. If you want a lit version, you could carve out just the eye shapes later and drop in a small LED puck. Snap your photo from straight on to keep the circle looking round.
