How to carve a cat pumpkin stencil
A cat silhouette is one big opening, so cut around the body first and finish the ears and tail with a knife. On a cat face, the whiskers are thin lines: cut them with a craft knife from the cheek outward, and stop short of the edge so they stay attached. Cut the slit-pupil eyes last.
A cat pumpkin perched on the top step looks like it is keeping watch. Pair it with a moon or a witch's hat design for a classic scene.
Questions
Cat stencil questions
How do I carve cat whiskers without them breaking?+
Cut each whisker as a slit that starts at the cheek and stops before the edge of the face, so it stays anchored at both ends. Three per side is enough.
What is the easiest cat pumpkin stencil?+
The sitting cat silhouette with a curled tail. It is one opening with a couple of ear notches and takes about 30 minutes.
How long do cat pumpkin stencils take to carve?+
Check the individual stencil's carving guide for its time estimate. Preparation, pumpkin size, wall thickness and your experience affect the total; difficulty alone does not determine carving time.
