Cut the eyes and mouth openings a little smaller than you want, then widen slowly to control the final shape.

   Drop in an LED light or two rather than a candle, both for safety and for a steady, even glow. Position one light low near the mouth and eyes to push the brightest light through those openings. Photograph at dusk with the background dark so the orange glow pops. Rub a little petroleum jelly on the cut edges to slow drying if you want it to last a few more days.
